I am sure you get more result messages than you care to read so I understand if you don’t read this–in part I just wanted to thank you for your guide I have gone through a few now and after my first trial run I ended up using your instructions almost exclusively and found your tips very helpful, and in the few places where I ignored your instructions I found my problems. I went against your recommendation and followed Cheng’s suggestion to caulk the edges–that turned out bad surprise surprise. The NPN product did not work and the plexi-glass was very expensive big surprise there right? Hopefully I did not apply it right and my next run will go better. Long story short I may be able to use the “bottom” of the piece were I practiced troweling for an end table with some slurry practice and maybe a coat of poly-urethane. I think the lessons learned are to follow your instructions closer and accept that the initial piece after the pour is going to be a bit raw and will need finish work. Trying to cheat in this first stage to save time and effort and money did not work out at all. Thanks again, Reid.
Peter’s manual saved me time and money. I don’t know how else to say it. And when I had a question he emailed me right back with his answer. I really appreciated that! — John, San Diego, Ca
Just a quick note to say thanks a lot for your great book….you have actually saved me so much time researching the process. My partner and I are both stone masons and will be doing some experimenting this week. Hopefully will send you some photos and feedback soon….We are located way up in northern Canada…Sault Ste Marie Ontario ….Take care and thanks. Sam, Sault St. Marie Ontario, Canada
I had been trying to put together everything I needed for my first product, but was starting to get nowhere. I would buy one product, then be told it wasn’t right. But that was because they were using a different technique. It was very frustrating. I bought Pete’s manual and had my first project done that week. – Gary, Austin, TX.
Thank-you for the excellent manual. It looks like I’m going save a ton of money compared to purchasing from one of the mass retailers. Scott, Kalamazoo. MI
A friend of mine did his kitchen with concrete countertops and they were beautiful. I decided I wanted to try it and I didn’t want to make any mistakes. I kept Pete’s manual right in my shop, and even kept it with me at the store I invited my buddy over and voila….brand new countertops as beautiful (maybe more) as his. Robert, Sydney, Australia
In the UK, concrete hasn’t really even started as a medium for countertops. Peter’s manual made things much easier for me, and provided me with what I needed to know to complete my project. Very helpful. Peter, Essex, UK
The manual had plenty of pictures and step by step instructions throughout the entire process. I had one question so I emailed Peter, and he responded the same day. That was a great help for me, and my first project came out great!! Susan, Ontario, Canada.
A quick note from Pete:
I really appreciate all the kind words. I knew there was a gap on what’s out there as far as getting started in interior concrete, but I had no idea this manual would get this kind of response. Please keep the comments and questions coming!
